While we are out for this prolonged school closure, our faculty and staff is determined to help our community to keep learning. Each teacher has prepared a learning packet. You can find those on the teachers' class pages by clicking Classes/Homework under the Students tab at the top of the page.
Additionally, we have created an eLearning Resources section of our website (also under the Students tab). This section contains links to class pages, direct links to some teacher's packets, and other resources available to our students during this closure.
The first set of learning packets are for five days and are available online on our website now. The second set will be available online starting on Wednesday, March 25 on our website. Should you not have internet access, paper copies can be made available by coming to the cafeteria on Wednesday, March 18 from 8:00am until 9:00am and 11:00am until Noon. If neither option works, contact the school by calling (843) 335-8251 and arrangements will be made to help you.
Teachers of grades 7 and 8 will have "office hours" from 10:00am until 1:00pm each day Monday through Friday; teachers of grades 9-12 will have "office hours' from 11:00am until 2:00pm each day Monday through Friday. During these office hours times, teachers will be available via email (and often other forms of communication) to help students with their eLearning assignments.
If you do not know your teacher's email address, you can contact them directly through our website by going to the Staff Directory under the About tab.
Please see the attached letter from Dr. McLaurin about our efforts. Should you have any questions, please contact either the school or an individual teacher during their office hours.
Don't forget that students can receive free meals each week day during this closure. Breakfast is available for pick-up from 8:00am until 9:00am each morning and lunch is available from 11:00am until Noon. On Wednesday, March 18, meals will be available in the McBee High School cafeteria. Starting on Thursday, March 19 both breakfast and lunch may be picked up during the same times but at McBee Elementary School (or lunch only may be picked up at Plainview Elementary School) for the duration of the closure.
We know that there are still a lot of questions and this situation is not ideal. Some of the questions won't have an answer until school resumes. All we can ask is that you bear with us as we all try to make the best of things. We miss you all and hope we see you sooner than later.
