E-Learning Week 1 (March 17-23)
Parents and students,
I have attached activities for your students to complete while they are at home over the next week. Additional work will be added next Tuesday, March 24. You will find 2 math worksheets where students can review adding and subtracting integers. This is a skill that all of my students have been working on this entire school year. It is an essential skill they need for many of the math classes they will complete throughout their middle school and high school years. I have also attached a couple of Khan Academy videos as a refresher, or in case any parent needs assistance when helping their child.
In addition to the math review, they will also find links to two pdf files that link to two nonfiction articles. They are to read these articles and complete the questions and writing activities that go with each.
The final assignment they have is to read a short article on Hot Spots and write down 5 interesting facts they find in the article.
Khan academy is a great resource to use if your student needs something more to do while they are at home over the next couple of weeks. Each of my students have an account on Khan Academy, and if they log on using their login information, and go to khanacademy.org/mappers, they will be able to access individualized activities based on their MAP scores! If any student does not remember their log in information, they can feel free to contact me via email and I will be able to help them!
Other resources students have access to while they are at home if they have internet access is readtheory, and imagine learning. I have their login information for readtheory.org if they don't remember them, and they should have their Imagine Learning logins.
During this time out of school I will be available by email from 10 AM to 1PM to answer questions about assignments. I am working on a way to be able to receive text messages as well. I will get that information out to you as soon as possible. I will do my best to answer any questions that you may have during this time. Due to the fact that this is an unprecedented circumstance, I may not have all the answers, but I will do my best to keep you informed with what I do know. My email address is [email protected].
Hope everyone stays safe, and please let me know if there's any way I can help! We all have to work together to get through this!
