Boasting over 100 participants, this event aids in meeting the goals of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by allowing students to explore life and career characteristics and to refine their interpersonal skills. Breakfast Before Hours is the brainchild of MHS Career Specialist, Terri Rhoad, and allows 12th grade students to interact and network with business professionals representing numerous career clusters while enjoying breakfast. The event is meant to serve as a springboard for students to learn the practice of introduction, eye contact, networking, and choosing proper business attire. Principal Josh McLaurin commented, “This was a first-class event that far exceeded my expectations. Breakfast Before Hours is super positive for our seniors and community.”
During the event, a random drawing was held for a bookbag-style laptop case donated by Sandhill Telephone Cooperative. Senior Jennifer Fuentes-Hernandez was the lucky recipient.
Other upcoming Career events include Senior Shadow day, the ASVAB for juniors, and the PSAT for sophomores all on October 16.
